Senior Experience Designer

We’re looking for a Senior Experience Designer to join our energetic award-winning design studio.

Join us in creating world class digital experiences for some of New Zealand’s most progressive and complex organisations - including Finance, Healthcare, Retail, Government, Energy, Travel and Startups.

Reporting to our Director of Experience Design, you will be driven, curious, humble, pragmatic, and excited about solving challenging problems. You’ll be passionate about understanding users and their needs, and using your craft and skills to design innovative digital experiences that people love.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Leading cross-functional design teams across diverse engagements - from design consulting through to Agile product design of websites, mobile apps, and software.
- Partnering with strategists and stakeholders to identify possible design solutions that bring customer needs, business needs and technological possibilities together.
- Using UX methodologies to make sense and visualise the complex systems through blueprints, journey maps and prototypes.
- Designing and facilitating ideation sessions and co-design workshops.
- Working with Product Leads and Engineers to define design requirements, provide implementation guidance, and ensure product quality, including user interaction, UI, accessibility and initiative flow.
- Using design testing to identify critical insights, improvements and implementing them through an iterative design process.
- Facilitating business and product challenges through proactive planning and identifying the right Human Centred Design approaches to drive solutions.

**What you’ll bring**:

- 5+ years experience designing for digital products, and services including web, mobile, apps, and software.
- Strengths in designing for complex business and user problems, multi-channel platforms and end to end customer journeys.
- Familiarity working lean and fast to deliver high quality design to fixed budgets and timelines.
- User-focused with experience following an HCD process including discovery, testing concepts and design with users and iterating designs.
- You are a systems thinker who can make sense of complex information, interaction flows and system architecture. You deliver user experiences that consider and reflect practical and technical constraints.
- Passion for building, prototyping, and continually evolving designs throughout the product life cycle.
- Experience adapting and developing design systems, including defining pattern libraries, brand visual language guidelines, etc.
- A good eye for visual design and can craft aesthetically pleasing user interfaces that are functional and intuitive. You will have a point of view on what good interaction and UI design is about.
- Clear communicator who can clearly articulate the design process, approach and impact of design through verbal and visual presentation.
- Excellent facilitation and collaboration abilities to work with multi-disciplinary teams and strive for the best outcomes.
- You have a strong knowledge of web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG), as well as a solid understanding of Android/iOS platform guidelines.
- Expert user of Figma, Sketch, Principle, Axure and Miro as the main tools of your trade.
