Compliance Advisor

In a world where our adversaries operate without rules or borders, Government Communication Security Bureau's (GCSB) mission to secure New Zealand's most valuable information has never been more relevant.
**About the role**:
GCSB seeks a keen compliance adviser to help ensure its important work is done properly and lawfully. You will provide excellent advice to operational teams to ensure they are able to do that they need to within proper boundaries. Your work is central to ensuring public trust and confidence in GCSB's activities to protect national security and keep New Zealand safe.
We can't reveal all the details of what you'll get to work on if you join us, but it will be complex and challenging. To be successful, you will bring demonstrated experience to help concisely, accurately and promptly advise on complex compliance matters raised by real situations in GCSB's unique work. You need a principled and practical approach to your work, and to be resilient, able to prioritise and contribute constructively and collaboratively. You'll need to offer solutions to problems as well as identifying them.
**About you**:
**In this position you will**:
- Provide compliance advice to various internal teams and external NZIC partners
- Support the investigation of compliance events and incidents
- Draft investigation reports including development of recommendations
- Identify compliance training requirements to relevant seniors and managers
- Help make seniors aware of gaps in policy or training identified during the development of compliance advice
In turn, you will work in a collaborative, supportive environment where you will contribute and assess the GCSB's success in meeting their legal and compliance commitments.
We want our people to succeed, whatever success looks like for them. Join us and we'll give you significant professional development opportunities aimed at taking your career in the direction you want it to go. You won't stand still with us as we're committed to ongoing learning and continuous improvement.
We're also committed to your wellbeing. We want our people to be the best they can be, both at work and at home. We offer our people comprehensive benefits, access to staff networking groups, flexible working and great work-life balance.
If you want to love coming to work each day, let us help you become Beyond Ordinary.
To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
