**The opportunity**
This is one of New Zealand’s largest food manufacturers seeking an experienced health and safety professional with a focus on delivery across their multiple sites nationwide.
As the National Health and Safety Manager you will lead a team reviewing policies and initiatives and developingand implementing safety systems throughout the supply chain side of the business.
You will be required to work alongside the wider supply chain leadership team who will be looking for you to implement and drive pragmatic solutions to health and safety in the workplace.
The business is looking for a capable Health & Safety Manager with with a proven track record on collaborating with cross organisation teams to create a strong health and safety culture.
**Key responsibilities of the role will include**:
- Delivery and implementation of the H&S Strategy
- Strong coordination across the organisation to ensure buy in and support of the H&S strategy.
- Lead the safety team providing the vision, direction, coaching and support to enable them to deliver their objectives to ensure the H&S team delivers their business plan.
- Promote and develop a business led, positive safety culture, which is inclusive and focuses on behavioural based safety.
- Ensure there is a robust H&S Management System in place aligned with business need, NZ law, international standards.
- Identify H&S capability gaps across the business and develop and work with the learning team and internal comms team to implement effective training and education programmes and campaigns to ensure all employees have the right level of knowledge for their role.
- Ensure H&S compliance training is up to date and all employees are trained appropriately.
- Provide compliance updates, information and training for leadership and the wider business as required.
- Oversee the administration and management of contractors in appropriate systems.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual reports are produced as required.
