**Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity - Principal Transport Planner**

This role will support the Integrated Network Planning team by providing regional multimodal transport planning advice to keep Auckland moving. This includes developing system planning tools and customer-focused transport plans to help improve Auckland's transport system.

**Key Tasks will include**:

- Leading development of selected AT transport plans
- Developing system planning tools like Future Connect
- Working to get understanding and buy-in for our plans
- Leading the provision of high-quality transport advice to decision makers
- Model key behaviour, including responsiveness, critical thinking, use of evidence
- Supporting the leadership of the team and group
- Working to raise the profile of the team and group
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within AT and key partners
- Be responsive to key stakeholder enquiries and engaging proactively with key stakeholders

**Qualifications - Minimum**:

- Bachelor's degree in urban planning / civilengineering or related field, and/or post graduate qualifications.

**Role specific experience - Minimum**:

- Eight years' experience in transport planning
- collaborative working style,
- driven to achieve outcomes and make a difference,
- experience working in a large/complex projects.

**Desired**:

- public and private sector experience,
- proficient in data driven decision making,
- geographic information systems (GIS) skills.
