Mō te Tūranga | About the Role The BNZ Treasury Team undertakes the central role of Funding, Capital Management, Interest Rate Risk Management on the Banking Book, Liquidity management, and Transfer Pricing for the bank. We currently have an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to support BNZ capital management functions in delivering balance sheet strategies and driving balance sheet outcomes. What are some of the key day to day tasks the Treasury Associate will be doing? - Provide capital analysis, reporting and planning and forecasting to support BNZ’s Capital Management Strategy. - Assist in capital transactions, projects and initiatives. - Contribute to BNZ Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and solvency stress testing - Assist in the improvement of the control and process framework, while maintaining documentation relating to model assumptions, processes and internal controls. - Produce management reporting and supporting analytics. - Undertake ad-hoc reporting/analysis requests from all stakeholders. What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity? This role offers you the opportunity to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, not only within the Finance Team, but across the wider BNZ. You'll have exposure to different business units and products across the Bank, so you'll enjoy building and managing relationships with internal stakeholders. What attributes will this person have in order to be successful? To be successful in this role, you will have 1-2 years relevant experience in the financial services industry, in a large and complex organisation. Ideally, you will have worked in an analytical role, managing and interpreting complex data, and managing end to end, large, complex pieces of work. With strong Excel skills and numeracy, you will have the ability to problem solve independently. You will also be an effective communicator, with an eye for detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects, and work towards tight deadlines. A tertiary qualification in Finance/Economics, Accounting, or Statistics is desirable.
