**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
This role contributes to the functioning of a Council that is focused on making the Waikato a better place.
- This role provides 25 hours of clerical and administrative support to the Chair
- Drafting correspondence, reports, and speech notes for the chair
- Managing expense processes and ensuring transactions comply with financial policy and delegations
- Managing a fast paced, politically charged work environment including confidential and sensitive information

**You will**:
- Be a seasoned executive assistant or have a transferable skill set
- Be able to work independently, identifying where advice is required
- Seek support where there is uncertainty
- Have well developed interpersonal skills
- Be honest, reliable and value accountability and service the public
- Be flexible to accommodate unusual work demands within reason.
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
It is preferred that you have a relevant tertiary qualification, but not essential.

The role sits in the Democracy Services Team and reports to the Team Lead. The Team prides itself on being supportive and progressive.
