Our Information Management Division (IMD) provides key services to the Ministry in the areas of knowledge and information technology management, through internal and external providers ensuring that the Ministry has the capabilities and functions it needs to enable efficient and effective day-to-day business. Our staff are committed to building a safe, more prosperous and sustainable future for all New Zealanders, assisting the government with international priorities and providing advice to the government on the implications for New Zealand of what is happening in the world.

As the Service Transition Lead, you will operate within the service transition and delivery functions to ensure the integrity and quality of IMD services is upheld, sufficient capacity exists to meet customer expectations and verify that internal and/or external service providers can support the new service effectively.

Your key duties and responsibilities:

- Ensure IT Change Management integrates across all functions, accounts for related disciplines, and manages changes throughout their lifecycle, including reporting and metrics.
- Lead the release of all IT Systems and Application related changes on Ministry networks through the test management lifecycle including reviewing and approving of test plans and deliverables.
- Work with the system owners and project managers to seamlessly integrate new and existing IMD services into current IMD environments.
- Analyse report on IMD service performance and value, asset condition, capacity and licensing.
- Identify and address any issues or risks by engaging with the relevant IMD teams to update configurations, refocus remediation activities or initiate service improvement plans.
- Support the SIAM to ensure key suppliers, both internal and external meet our service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in service integration and assurance, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team.

The range is $104,670 - $141,612 (total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution). We expect to appoint within this range depending on your level of experience.

We'd like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

- Proficiency in change management and release practices
- Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL
- Knowledge of test management practices and activities
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good collaboration and communication abilities
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
- Experience in managing IT assets, capacity, and licensing.

Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Maori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Maori (the Maori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that's OK too - as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
