**The organisation & position**:
We are partnering with a unique SaaS business that provides AI-based content moderation software that detects visual threats. The business is seeking a Wellington-based Product Owner or Manager to identify and prioritise products and features that provide maximum value to customers as the business grows. As a result of this process, you are responsible for realising measurable business success. You will be reporting directly to the CTO and work closely with the Product & Technology leadership team, internal development team, Data Science team and an outsourced Dev team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Implementing a structured product management process to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products
- Creating and communicating a cohesive product roadmap for the portfolio of products.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan to prioritise investments and achieve product goals
- Own the product roadmap — a timeline that visualises what you will deliver and when.
- Ensuring that product success is measured and evaluated using key metrics and customer feedback
- Building relationships and understanding of existing and potential customers & users.
- Fostering and maintaining extreme collaboration between the product development, UXD, marketing, operations and executive teams.
- Deeply understanding market, customer and user-level challenges, preferences, hopes, pain points, and dreams.
- Delivering user insights, clear instructions and priorities, resulting in well prepared epics and initiatives.
- Managing level of investment in product development initiatives to optimise the ROI of new products and features.
- Communicating the product strategy, roadmap, and features appropriately organisation-wide in order to align teams to what they are building, why they are building it, how they are building it, and what kind of impact and learnins are achieved

Given it's a relatively lean team that are geographically dispersed, you might be required to take on some additional responsibilities such as some basic testing to ensure the accuracy of outputs meets expectations, coordinating / communicating with customers and the Dev team on support issues, technical documentation, or some AWS administration to ensure the cloud services are operational. As the team continues to grow these responsibilities will diminish over time.

**Core Skills & Experience**:

- Significant experience and success managing a commercial product in a business environment.
- Proactively gathering, understanding, and filtering requirements and insights to maximise business impact
- Strong technical background and understanding of software development and design.
- Be an excellent communicator. Both written and verbal for both internal and external stakeholders.
