**Job Description**:
**The role**:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, based in Fiji, you will be responsible for managing the external audits of NPDL & its 20+ subsidiaries spread across the South Pacific.

You will relish the process of completing consolidations and reconciliation reviews. You will also be responsible for compiling separate Financial Statements of NPDL & its subsidiaries under IFRS, the timely execution of the audit of these Financial Statements, together with the completion of the associated local statutory audits across the region. In addition, the role will liaise closely with Regional/Corporate Tax teams to ensure compliance with local and US tax reporting obligations.

**What you will be doing**:

- Managing the overall Audit program to ensure NPDL delivers efficiently a clean audit across all entities and ensures all statutory obligations are completed on time.
- Coordinate & manage group reporting packages for the Parent audit of NPDL.
- Review of all financial statements prior to signing
- Communicating between Corporate Finance and Local Accounting Teams within the broader organization on accounting related items.
- Involvement with the implementation of Oracle for all NPDL entities.
- Understanding and implementing accounting policies, processes, controls, and systems across the organization in line with best practice.
- Ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned

This role is based in Parnell, Auckland or in Suva, Fiji and international travel in the South Pacific region will be required at times.

**Qualifications**:
**Here’s what you’ll bring to the table**:

- Qualified CA/CPA
- Experience working in a Big 4 or similar with strong technical accounting experience will be a distinct advantage
- Previous experience in public accounting, as well as corporate reporting, including complex multi-currency consolidations
- Experience of managing large group audits, as well as multiple simultaneous statutory audits, across multiple jurisdictions; delivering to a set timetable.
- Strong working knowledge of technical accounting and associated IFRS matters; US GAAP experience is a benefit
- Excellent accounting background and knowledge of accounting and finance compliance, month end closing, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis
- Experience of Merger & Acquisitions and/or Legal Entity Restructures.

You will be a seasoned Finance Manager with strong communication and interpersonal skills, outstanding ability to build relationships with peers and your team in the US and APAC region. You will be deadline focused, tenacious, have a high level of attention to detail with a strong emphasis on execution. You will be tech savvy with experience with Oracle Fusion Financials or CargoWise being highly desirable. Additionally, you will be a strong mentor for one direct report and will enjoy supporting and developing others.

You will have the skill to take the lead and manage projects especially audits within tight timeframes and be proactive in your communication. The information and data sources may not be perfect however you love the challenge of problem solving whilst being agile in this environment. With your experience you will easily identify areas for improvement and will enjoy finding solutions to these. You must enjoy working collaboratively and be able to contribute to team discussions and projects.
