Macpac is Aotearoa New Zealand’s original outdoor brand. Founded in Ōtautahi Christchurch in 1973, we have made it our business to show people that life is better when you are outside. **About this Opportunity**
This role sits in a team that is responsible for making sure our product is in the right place at the right time and to ensure optimised stock levels across all channels to support sales.
The purpose of this role is to build and execute product forecast plans in order to meet our business units total inventory objectives and targets in line with Macpac’s total requirements.
The Demand and Inventory Planner will use available data and insights to effectively estimate future product intake demands for new and existing products. Demand planning duties include but are not limited to:
- Planning inventory flow at micro and macro level, analyzing sales data, and assisting in the evolution of forecasting solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
- The analysis of geographical, seasonal, and promotional trends and the execution of this analysis will ensure all assigned stores are maintained with the optimal inventory to achieve sales
- Modify and communicate the core product range forecast to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
- Ratify forecasts with Merchandise for new SKUs; identify & activate supersession requirements; manage SKU forecast discontinuation.
- Manage budgets allowances for seasonal and product with short product lifecycles.
- Work with Allocation and Purchasing planners to ensure new store builds execute the demand plan and meet business requirements
- Provide reporting to supply chain and planning & merchandise stakeholders on forecasted stock movements and inventory plans to aid with supply chain planning and cost control
**To be successful in this role**
- Previous planning experience in the retail sector will be highly regarded
- Forecasting experience, ability to understand stock flow and predict trends
- You will be a motivated self-starter who can prioritise work loads
- Excellent excel skills and a strong analytical mind
- You will be a strong communicator and understand how to work cross-collaboratively with other teams and functions within the workplace
