About the roleThis is a new role to support our production process. We are flexible as to the background and experience of that person with key criteria being someone who enjoys using data to bring insight to the business.
Turn production and inventory data into decisions that lift efficiency and margin. This role is reporting and analysis‑focused. You will review production/inventory reports, validate product costing assumptions, and partner closely with the Production Planner and Finance to explain drivers, identify fixes, and track improvements.
Key responsibilities- Own production & inventory reporting: Analyse daily/weekly/monthly outputs; monitor yield, scrap/rework, stock turn, cost per unit; explain drivers and recommend actions.
- Deliver product costing insights: Maintain and validate standard costs (BOMs, dry goods, freight), compare actuals vs estimates, and highlight efficiency opportunities.
- Partner with operations & finance: Work with the Production Planner and Finance to prioritise fixes, track outcomes, and publish clear dashboards, reports, and written summaries.
- Data integrity & continuous improvement: Review ERP (Business Central) item ledger entries for accuracy; refine reporting pipelines; suggest data integration and process improvements.
- Experience analysing manufacturing or FMCG data (production, inventory, costing, variances).
- Strong Excel and reporting capability and comfort working with ERP data (Solver, Power BI, and Business Central a plus).
- Clear, concise communication—able to translate numbers into actions for production and finance teams.
- Curiosity and pragmatism: you love finding root causes and proposing practical fixes.
- Exposure to standard costing and BOMs in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with winery/bottling, dry-goods procurement, and standard cost analysis.
- Experience with integrating data into models and databases
