The company

Having doubled in size over the past four years we are working with a nation-wide planning consultancy is looking for an intermediate planning professional to join their Auckland team for a who can hit the ground working with repeat clients in both the public and private sector. They offer flexible working options, and opportunities for career advancement and development in the different planning fields. Working in the organisations largest office, building experience alongside other planning professionals while also providing mentorship and leadership to a junior/graduate planner. The ideal applicant will be able to work independently and confidently in a consultancy environment

You will

  • Have extensive knowledge of resource management planning in New Zealand along with a planning and/or resource management degree
  • Hold or be eligible for New Zealand Planning Institute membership
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the resource management planning sector
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills along with an ability to communicate effectively with relevant stake holders
  • Have a desire to provide leadership to junior members of the team

The role

As an intermediate planner, you will be working alongside planners ranging from graduates to associates and excelling in this position demands a high-level of interpersonal abilities and confidence in your quality of work. You will be provided a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to gather experience at one of New Zealand's leading planning consultancies.

  • Contributing and working alongside policy planners, landscape architects, and other development professionals
  • Lead and work on local projects along with working on projects around the country on behalf of other offices.
  • Working closely with graduate/junior planners in your office passing on knowledge and expertise

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting local councils in acquiring and processing resource consents when required
  • Managing the different stages associated with planning projects
  • Creating and maintaining honest genuine relationships with the clients and stakeholders
