**The role**

An opportunity has arisen for a senior associate to join our leading corporate and commercial team based in Auckland.

This part of our team is led by partners David Thomson and Lisette Hood who specialise in corporate and commercial law, working with a number of high-profile private and public sector clients that shape New Zealand's commercial landscape. David and Lisette have worked closely together for 23 years and provide an excellent working environment and opportunity for a senior lawyer who is interested in running a blended transactional and advisory practice.

As a valued member of the team, you will work with both David and Lisette on a wide range of corporate transactions and commercial matters that include mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory and structuring work, commercial contracting, procurement, corporate governance and joint ventures.

You will be an integral part of a team that works across major industry sectors, and with various national and multi-national businesses in both the private and public sector.

This is a great opportunity for you if you enjoy a varied diet of corporate and commercial legal work, have great commercial drafting skills, and are looking to advance your career in private practice.

- Have eight or more years PQE in corporate and/or general commercial law with some experience working on M&A transactions
- Hold a track record of advising corporate clients on a range of commercial legal issues
- Be a great communicator and thrive in a collaborative and high-performing work environment Be able to connect with a wide range of people including clients and others in the firm
