We're recruiting a talented lawyer to join an outstanding commercial property team that is at the forefront of some of New Zealand's most significant transactions, infrastructure developments, and projects. Who would suit this role?

Our client is keen to appoint a Senior Associate-level lawyer with 7+ PQE interested in full-time or part-time work. The role offers excellent work flexibility, autonomy, a full home office setup, and savvy IT systems to enable your success. Due to a consistently strong workflow and an exciting deal pipeline, they are also looking to add a Senior Solicitor with 4+ PQE to the team.

More about the role

As a senior lawyer on the team, you'll work on a diverse range of matters including commercial property acquisitions and disposals, development projects, commercial leasing, and multi-lot subdivisions. You'll also be collaborating closely with corporate and commercial and banking and finance teams on high-value deals across the private and public sectors.

Recent work

This team has played a substantial role in several major transactions, shaping New Zealand's economic and physical landscape. Highlights include advising on the property aspects of a multi-billion-dollar sale of a prominent Kiwi-owned business to an international buyer; supporting property due diligence for joint ventures between local entities and global investors; acting as the lead legal advisor to a national building contractor on multiple build-to-rent projects; and managing the end-to-end multi-million-dollar sale of commercial property for a major FMCG company.

About You

You will have 7+ PQE (Senior Associate) in property law with substantial exposure to commercial property transactions. Senior Solicitors with 4+ PQE are also encouraged to apply. Experience may be local and/or international, gained in reputable law firms or in-house legal teams. You'll be admitted to the New Zealand bar with the ability to hold a practising certificate (lawyers admitted in Australia or the UK are encouraged to apply, as our client holds accreditation with Immigration New Zealand). As a Senior Associate, you'll bring strong deal-management and file-handling skills, mentorship ability, and the confidence to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with others.
