Alpha is a leader in the provision of Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services within New Zealand and we are well established in the Christchurch region with contracts with ACC and MSD.

We are a little big company. As a part of the Marsh and McLennan (MMC) group this offers employees the dynamics of a smaller friendly company where everybody knows each other within a flat leadership structure while having the support, security and benefits of being a part of a larger corporate. The role is primarily working with clients of MSD but there is also the opportunity to expand it to ACC and private clients.

**Employment Consultant**

Based in an MMC Group office in Christchurch you will have plenty of support and colleagues but you will need to work independently with a high level of self discipline, have accurate report writing skills, an ability to work to time frames and be computer literate. Your day is what you make it and getting out and about in the community with clients and employers is an important part of the role
- Relevant experience in the facilitation of training/ and or teaching experience and mentoring services.
- Ability to connect with people of all ages and abilities
- Passion about making a difference to people's lives
- A good knowledge of the local labour market and extensive networks with employers in Christchurch
- Enthusiasm, initiative and drive to deliver results for our clients
- Ability to self-manage
- Computer competency
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Enthusiasm to drive and deliver results
- Excellent communication & listening skills
- Willingness to go the extra mile to continuously upskill in industry knowledge, techniques and labour market trends
- Experience supporting people with health conditions and disabilities
- Ability to think outside of the box to support people to overcome their barriers to employment
- Ability to seek out and liaise with other community support services and training organisations in the community

It is essential that you show a willingness to work cooperatively within a multi disciplinary team environment.

**What can you expect?**

In this role you will be completing assessments, leading training programmes, providing coaching and support to clients to find employment, networking with a range of employers and supporting clients once they are in employment.

No day is the same in our business, so you’ll need to be able to manage competing priorities, drive key relationships, and take ownership of your caseload. Genuine problem solving skills are a must. You’ll need to be able to think on your feet and outside the box.
