Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a dedicated and flexible Allied Health Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the well-being of our community. We are looking for someone who is practically minded and can bring valuable life experience to our workforce.
The role would be based at Waikato Hospital, with many shifts occurring there, but would also cover our rural hospitals and community bases. As this is a casual position, hours would vary week to week, including up to 40 hours per week on occasion. Hours of work typically are between 7:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday with some possible weekend shifts.

**About the Role**
- Assist registered allied health clinicians with patient interventions.
- Helping patients to regain their independence with activities of daily living following medical illness/surgery
- Ordering of equipment such as walking aids and exercise equipment
- Perform administrative tasks
- Undertake group patient activities when required
- Setting up of equipment and equipment cleaning

Allied Health is a department of the Waikato district that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Our Allied Health Assistants play a crucial role in supporting these allied health professionals. We are a very welcoming team and provide a supportive work environment.
