We are looking for an enthusiastic person with an eye for detail to join our team as a land advisor. Land is a critical component of Treaty Settlements and this position helps in that process. This position is directly involved with all the technical work required relating to land included in treaty settlements.

The land advisor does the following things
- researches how the Crown got to own the land;
- reviews disclosures provided by Crown agencies for completeness; identifies access and encumbrances;
- drafts the land component of bill and deed instructions for review; drafts survey instructions;
- creates or commission deed plans; and
- review of the land related parts of Cabinet papers.

**He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience**
- Completed law degree or
- Technical land skills such as surveying, GIS, mapping or valuation

It would also be an advantage if you had some:

- Knowledge of Crown owned land issues an advantage
- Knowledge of land law
- Knowledge of Treaty of Waitangi issues
- Knowledge of government structures and processes
- Project management experience
- Experience of working and relating well with a wide range of people
- Experience of working effectively in both individual and team situations
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with core Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Outlook, Excel) and basic computer literacy
