Reporting to the Head of Risk and Assurance, this role sits within our Organisational Effectiveness business group. We are a small team operating in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment where you will have lots of opportunity to challenge yourself and add value:
- Lead and support the delivery of good practice internal assurance, as well as associated compliance management initiatives, to provide assurance to the organisation that risks are controlled, and objectives are well supported.
- Provide expert, pragmatic advice and guidance on all thing's governance, risk management, compliance and internal controls.
- Lead/project manage risk and assurance activities and specific reviews, projects and initiatives, as part of the Risk and Assurance workplan. Manage the end-to-end assurance process, including providing pragmatic and practical value adding recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to a strong risk-aware culture, through effective influence and demonstrated integrity,
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of risk and assurance frameworks, policies, tools and guidance to lift risk management capability,
- Partnering and build strong relationships across business units, earning respect as a trusted advisor.
- Supporting the design, development and maintenance of the rolling 18-month assurance workplan, aligning assurance initiatives to LINZ's strategic priorities and risk profile
- Support regular, insightful Risk and Assurance reporting to the CE, Kaihautu (DCE) and the Strategic Risk and Assurance Advisory Committee ("RAC").
**He pukenga tou - Skills & Experience**
- Proven experience in assurance and internal audit, preferably in a public sector or government advisory role.
- Experience with risk and assurance frameworks, methodologies, tools and techniques, to work in partnership with stakeholders, organisation wide.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Be an effective influencer, providing expert advice and evidence-based assurance insights to senior leaders to help them better identify and manage their risks, and improve the quality of their decision making and performance.
- Knowledge of public sector regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
- Skills and experience in the promotion and education of risk practices at all levels of an organisation
- The proven ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and produce meaningful information to inform decision-making.
**Qualifications**
Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications are preferred:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business, risk management, or other relevant discipline.
- Professional assurance certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CISA, CIA etc).
The expected appointing range for this role is between $120,000 - $140,000, dependent on experience.
