**Korero mo te turanga - About the role** Senior Advisors are also responsible for assessing and providing advice on overseas investment risk, this can include national interest, national security, and/or public order risk. Doing this requires engagement with a range of other NZ government agencies and an understanding of the broader strategic and commercial environment. Senior Advisors are required to clearly present their analysis and recommendations to decision-makers (including Ministers), applicants, and the wider public. Senior Advisors are also expected to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to overall improvements of our system and regulatory regime. **He pukenga tou - Skills & Experience** To succeed in this role, you will need: - A relevant tertiary degree or prior training in a relevant field. Experience in intelligence analysis **and/or** commercial/trust law, with a desire to learn aspects of the other field - Have experience in providing advice in complex regulatory settings and be able to see the "bigger picture" - Possess an enquiring mind with the ability to identify key issues and a range of risks from complex legal and commercial information, and - Either have or will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret national security clearance.
