**Korero mo te turanga - About the role**
This is a unique thought leadership opportunity in our small, tight-knit, multi-disciplinary team of investigators, lawyers, and intelligence professionals who provide a compliance function for LINZ's regulatory systems. The team works in partnership to investigate potential breaches of the legislation, and to take enforcement action where appropriate.
Until recently, the Compliance team has been focused exclusively on the overseas investment regime, but is now being extended to other systems, including the survey and title regime, valuation regime, and Crown property management system.

You have a track record in delivery of quality investigations, enforcement decisions, and providing technical expertise in a regulatory environment. Your expertise will ensure our compliance activities are at the leading edge of regulatory practice. While this role doesn't have any direct reports, to be successful in the role you must be able to both lead others to complete work and complete projects yourself. Having experience in both technical and people leadership would be beneficial.
**Your main areas of responsibility will include**:
- Leading a programme of investigative work under the Overseas Investment Act, which is delivered by experienced investigators and lawyers.
- Contributing to the extension and implementation of the compliance function (including investigation, and enforcement activity) beyond the overseas investment regime.
- Providing technical expertise to investigation and enforcement activities.
- Being a key member of the overseas investment leadership team contributing to the wider performance of this function.
- Working closely with other principals and leader to deliver the compliance function.
- Managing the prioritisation, allocation, timely completion and quality of investigative work, utilising a team of experienced investigators and solicitors.
- Making operational decisions including enforcement outcomes.
- Identifying and promoting opportunities to use intelligence products to improve compliance and deter non-compliance.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential.
**The expected appointment range for this role is $137,000 up to $150,000 dependent on experience. This role is based in our Wellington office.**
