The Economic Growth branch leads and coordinates efforts across MBIE and other government agencies to support the Government's economic growth priorities. The Branch drives initiatives that boost New Zealand's economic performance, enabling all New Zealanders to thrive.

As **Programme Director**, you will lead the delivery of **Ministerial engagement** with business and manage the **Going for Growth (GFG)** **Secretariat**, while also supporting policy teams to deliver the broader economic growth programme. This role requires a seasoned leader with a strong background in programme delivery. You will bring exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, political acumen, and the ability to navigate complex environments to successfully deliver high-impact outcomes.

**Skills and Experience Required**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- **Proven experience** leading large, complex, and high-profile programmes.
- **A strong background**in running secretariat functions and supporting government groups such as committees, boards, or Ministerial working groups.
- **Excellent relationship skills**, with experience working closely with senior public servants, Ministers, and industry leaders.
- **The ability to turn strategy into action**, managing programmes effectively and keeping them on track.
- **Sharp strategic thinking**, with the ability to spot risks and opportunities early and adjust plans to ensure success.
- **Influence and collaboration**, even when you're not in a formal leadership role.
- **Strong people leadership**, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- **The legal right to work in New Zealand**.
