**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The Te Whatu Ora Improve business unit takes a whole-system, consumer and whānau-centred and equity led approach to accelerate improvement and innovation, underpinned by best evidence, data and evaluation.
In this role you will be responsible for overseeing a team of innovation managers tasked with ensuring design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of organisation-wide innovation programmes and strategic projects to improve equity and equality of health care services.
The Group Manager Innovation will champion successful team partnerships with international, national, regional and local leaders, to develop and implement strategic plans to drive health innovation that align to the organisation's goals, Te Pae Tata and other agreed priorities to achieve Pae Ora, through the design and implementation of innovative solutions.
**Mōu | About you**
We are seeking a strategic leader who can demonstrate a keen understanding of health care innovation approaches and trends and their implication for Te Whatu Ora. You have a proven track record in leading courageously, being bold and taking the initiative, and effectively managing risk. You will have senior leadership experience in the development of effective innovation strategies and the successful scaling initiatives across a large organisation. You will be able to describe how you have successfully developed and maintained strong relationships and partnerships to support innovation including with Māori, Pacific people and tangata whaikaha.

- Significant experience and expertise in leading improvement and innovation teams, senior clinicians and managers to build capability, improvement leadership and lifting performance of teams/units.
- An ability to work within and across matrixed and interconnected teams to deliver work and achieve group objectives and outcomes.
- Previous responsibility at a leadership level for developing, maintaining and influencing effective relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific people and groups.
- An ability to think conceptually and anticipate the impact of decisions on long term outcomes and develop/recommend responses in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Experience developing and implementing effective group strategies and work plans that deliver on organisational objectives.
- An ability to stimulate creative ideas and perspectives that add value.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
