Do you want to play an important role in a new transdisciplinary University Research Centre that will deliver creative and innovative solutions to realise opportunities, needs, and concerns identified by older people, to improve health, wellbeing and human flourishing?
- We have three fixed term vacancies for highly organised and motivated individuals to work with the Directors as **Research Assistant** in the Centre for Co-Created Ageing Research (CCREATE-AGE) team. _Hīkina kia tutuki - rise to meet the challenge._

At the Centre for Co-Created Ageing Research (CCREATE-AGE) we have three fixed-term vacancies for highly organised and motivated individuals to work with the Directors as the **Research Assistants**. These are important roles within a team that is developing a new transdisciplinary centre to deliver creative and innovative solutions to realise opportunities, needs, and concerns identified by older people, to improve health, wellbeing and human flourishing.
As a Research Assistant you will work closely with the transdisciplinary team of academics, external stakeholders and the public - unlocking human potential by giving older people, researchers and other stakeholders the opportunity to co-create world-class ageing research.
CCREATE-AGE has a strong focus on tackling ageism and addressing inequity. A clear understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and our obligations together with the understanding diverse Pasifika communities are essential in order to walk alongside Māori and Pacific communities as equitable partners.
As a Research Assistant your work will be guided by kotahitanga, fostering inclusivity that is respectful of the diversity of older people and the communities to which they belong. You will support the Directors, Research Theme and Working Group Leads in four main areas:
- Assisting with cocreation
- Creating inclusive opportunities for older people to be involved the research activities of CCREATE-AGE
- Capturing and sharing the difference that public involvement makes to research
- Equity Development.
You will undertake operational aspects of CCREATE-AGE strategy including supporting the co-creation and implementation of working group plans, supporting the co-creation of research proposals, and undertaking outreach activities with older people in community settings in Aotearoa.
The Research Assistants will be fully committed to the Research Centre philosophy and ethos of co-creation with older people and other stakeholders.
This is a Part-time (15 hours per week 0.4FTE), 3-year fixed term opportunity with a possibility of a further 2-year extension
Remuneration: $60,000-$70,000 pro rata depending on experience.

- Understanding of equity issues impacting Māori
- Ability to communicate confidently and comfortably with older people (especially older people living with dementia) and families
- Ability to develop relationships with public and private external organisations, iwi and charities
