**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Professional Teaching Fellow to teach all areas of the MRI discipline and to significantly contribute to the department’s academic programmes in medical imaging.
This is a **part time**.4FTE (16 hours per week) role, with the position due to run for **24 months**.
Remuneration: PTF2 or above dependent on education and experience ($101,920+)
Under the supervision of the Medical Imaging Programme Director, you will be is responsible for graduate and undergraduate teaching in the Department of Anatomy and Medical imaging. You will assist in the ongoing successful delivery of high-quality courses in the Postgraduate Programmes in Medical Imaging.
During your work, you will:
- Develop and deliver high quality courses in medical imaging, with a primary focus on MRI.
- Adopt a helpful and approachable manner, and provide timely, accurate and appropriate advice for students seeking assistance with their work.
- Provide support to the Programme Director in the continuous quality improvement of the Medical Imaging programmes.
- Ensure regular student evaluations and act on recommendations arising.
- Liaise with stakeholders including DHBs, MRTB, private radiology centres and other relevant parties in the development and promotion of programmes/courses.
- Represent the University externally in meetings, seminars and conferences as may be appropriate, and advocate and represent the University in public fora.

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**
The Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging is one of eight departments in the School of Medical Sciences within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (FMHS) at the University of Auckland. It is recognised locally and internationally for anatomy and medical imaging education and research, in particular in neuroscience, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal systems.
The Department has state of the art anatomical dissection, processing, plastination, and medical imaging facilities, and fully integrates physical examination and medical imaging into a variety of teaching and research programmes. The Department offers the only postgraduate programmes in medical imaging technology in New Zealand.
**He kōrero mōu | About you**
It is essential that you have a post-graduate qualification in clinical MRI recognised by the Medical Radiation Technologists Board and have a current or be eligible for a New Zealand clinical annual practising certificate (APC).
You will need to demonstrate at least 2 years-experience in relevant clinical environment, and experience as a workplace clinical tutor/trainee educator. We are also searching for someone who can easily demonstrate their understanding of the significance of the Treaty of Waitangi, with a commitment to culturalism and a sound understanding of professional ethics.
To be considered you will need to be a skilled MRI technologist, with relevant clinical and technical expertise and knowledge of the latest research developments in the field, able to identify barriers and support team teaching during training and upskilling. It will also be beneficial if you can demonstrate your experience in teaching at the post-graduate level. This includes clinical supervision of students and experiences in assessing clinical performance of students.
