At the Centre for Co-Created Ageing Research (CCREATE-AGE) we have a fixed term vacancy for a highly organised and motivated individual to work with the Directors as the **Commercial Engagement and Research Development Coordinator. **This is an important role within a team that is developing a new transdisciplinary centre to deliver creative and innovative solutions to realise opportunities, needs, and concerns identified by older people, to improve health, wellbeing, and human flourishing.
As the CCREATE-AGE Commercial Engagement and Research Development Coordinator you will lead the development of external stakeholder relationships in private and public sector, nurture industrial relationships and act as conduit between industries and academic communities for CCREATE-AGE. The postholder would support CCREATE-AGE Aged Care Consortium in developing relationships within the sector and developing a sustainable financial model, securing Business Enterprise Expenditure on R&D and philanthropic funding for a new Daily Living Facility. The postholder would be expected to work closely with the Faculty of Engineering, the Newmarket Innovation Precinct (NIP) industry engagement programme and the Newmarket Interest Group to ensure the development of a collaborative space and Daily Living Lab meet the University’s vision for Newmarket (i.e. provides a space where industry and community, research and education collide, a campus that is welcoming to the public and has a vibrant culture and approach). The postholder will be fully committed to CCREATE-AGE philosophy and ethos of co-creation with older people and other stakeholders.
CCREATE-AGE has a strong focus on tackling ageism and addressing inequity. A clear understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and our obligations together with understanding diverse Pasifika communities are essential in order to walk alongside Māori and Pacific communities as equitable partners.
This position is fixed term, part time.2FTE (7.5 hours per week) role up to May 2026; there is potential to extend for a further two years on mutual agreement between employee and Directors.
Remuneration: $66,600 - $82,200 pro rata dependent on experience

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**
CCREATE-AGE adopts an agenda for co-created transdisciplinary ageing research that incorporates a ‘quadruple helix’ model of collaboration. Our team includes four Directors (two female Pākehā Professors (Vanessa Burholt and Ngaire Kerse) walking alongside two wāhine Māori academics (Jo Hikaka and Tia Reihana)), and a strategic management team drawn from academia, business and industry; government and public sector; and civil society. But our team is broader than that.** **We will establish and maintain a community of co-creators (kaumātua, older people, caregivers, whānau, families; academics; practitioners and professionals in the public sector, aged residential care (ARC), businesses and industry) who will be involved in all our research activities.
**He kōrero mōu | About you**
You will have a strong track record in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, networking, in an academic or industrial setting. Experience brokering relationships and presenting information to industrial partners. You will understand the use of strengths-based narratives which highlight human potential, particularly as it relates to age and ethnicity.
You will have e an ability to develop relationships with public and private external organisations, iwi, and charities. You should be familiar with or have experience of academic research. A commitment to equity and the ability to work alongside older people in our community of co-creators is essential.
