How does the role fit into the company vision, mission and organizational structure/ department?

The Principal Consultant plays a key role and is the primary technical point of contact for select customers for establishing and maintaining successful customer relationships. Through having an understanding of the technical landscape the Principal Consultant partners with the customers leadership team to develop and realise long-term strategies, with the aim of delivering visionary results.

In this role you will work with SECTION6 teams to scope and win engagements in highly competitive environments, identifying opportunities where SECTION6 can contribute to and advance customer strategy objectives.

About the Principal Consultant Role:
Leading SECTION6 and customer delivery teams, you will track the progress of projects and continually seek opportunities for improvement, delighting customers by doing the right thing and exceeding expectations wherever possible.

Finally, as a Principal Consultant, you will contribute the following skills, experience, and technical knowledge:

- Work as a strategic partner to business leaders, helping them navigate uncertainty and risk to make informed decisions.
- Leading technical teams to align with, and meet business objectives.
- Conduct technical presentations, demos, proof of concepts and present other sales and marketing collateral.
- Develop business proposals, functional and technical specifications and other documents where required.
- Clearly and effectively communicate ideas, concepts and vision to stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
- Identify and capitalise on opportunities to augment and advance customer strategy.
- Demonstrate an ability to think outside the box and a willingness to challenge the customer’s thinking in a constructive manner.

**To be suitable for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and have experience in the following areas**:
- A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including experience developing and maintaining middleware, microservices and REST APIs using languages and frameworks aligned with SECTION6 core competencies.
- Demonstrable experience supporting and maintaining complex and mission-critical platforms and workloads, which meet and exceed SLAs.
- An ability to carry out structured, hypothesis-based root cause analysis in complex systems.
- A track record of technical leadership and effective client management, delivering high-value outcomes for customers in complex environments.- Extensive experience with container-based technologies, such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Operators.
- Experience in contributing to and participating in industry events.
- Managing, coaching, and mentoring junior staff.
