**The Opportunity**
Join Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral. Te Whatu Ora is a key Allied Health leadership role. If you are adaptable, flexible, and agile thinker with a proven record of achieving, this role may be for you.
The system transformation involves delivering integrated care by engaging across primary, specialist and community based allied health therapy services providers to provide better health outcomes for the communities we serve.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Allied Health, we are seeking an experienced leader with a “can-do” attitude for this position.
**Key responsibilities of the role**:
- Supporting the Executive Director of Allied Health in meeting key organisational priorities
- Providing activities to support strategic leadership for allied health workforces that spans across disciplines and clusters working across the district
- Optimising allied health's involvement and contribution to models of care leading workforce development, clinical programmes and initiatives, or new models of care relevant to allied health across the system and providing a strong collective voice for allied health workforces
- Contribute to growing and developing front-line clinical leadership, actively supporting leadership capability improvements and enabling clinicians and teams within the organisation to make good decisions as close to the patient/client as possible
- Contribute to and support a programme of transformational change and the integration of services across the organisation, relevant to the allied health workforce
- Supports system change and work collaboratively across the clusters and service providers to support and influence the role allied health plays in better outcomes for communities
- Strategic function supporting the organisation and cluster leadership to ensure clinical governance is embedded within Allied Health therapy professions
**About you**
To be considered appropriate for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- A qualification as an Allied Health therapy professional
- Registration with applicable regulatory body
- A current annual practicing certificate in relevant discipline or membership of relevant association where profession is not governed by the HPCAA
- A relevant postgraduate professional qualification and/or have at least 5 years' demonstrated leadership experience
- Ensure the professional integrity of MidCentral by carrying out all functions in compliance with Te Tiriti o Waitangi to support equity of outcomes
- Contribution to regional or national work projects
- Active participation in relevant discipline conferences, presenting papers and/or posters
- Experience in having worked in a leadership role and part of a wider leadership team
- Evidence in leading and managing change (process enhancements)
Awareness of equity issues across the sector including, but not limited to Māori Health
- A thorough understanding of the function of the allied health therapy groups and their challenges
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- An interest in IT and digital initiatives
