**About the Role**

Te Uru Pā Harakeke has an exciting senior nursing opportunity in the Associate Director of Nursing position (ADON).

The ADON role is an integral part of the directorate leadership team providing professional and practice support to frontline nursing leaders and staff. The ADON supports staff to enable them to thrive and deliver services in an integrated way. This includes having a “whole of system” approach to ensuring excellence in nursing practice and professional standards.

The ADON, Te Uru Pā Harakeke will focus on growing and developing front-line nursing leadership, devolving decision-making, actively supporting leadership capability improvements. They will enable clinicians and teams within the service and across the directorate to make good decisions as close to the patient/client as possible.

The role is responsible for leading and contributing to a programme of transformational change and the integration of services across Te Uru Pā Harakeke, in partnership with the Operations Lead.

There is a requirement to participate in the senior management on call roster and to act for senior leaderships as required.

**About you - To succeed in this role**
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification (or on the masters pathway).Demonstrated leadership experience
- Registered Nurse with a New Zealand Practising certificate
- A minimum of 6 years clinical experience (preference in child health)
- Awareness of, and evidence of response to, equity issues across the sector
