Fracture Liaison Nurse/Allied Health Practitioner (Scope of Practice: Registered Nurse/Registered Allied Health Professional)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practitioner with minimum 3 years post registration experience to work within the Fracture Liaison service. The purpose of the FLS is to ensure that all patients aged 50 years or over, who present to all urgent care services with a fragility fracture, undergo fracture risk assessment and receive treatment in accordance with the Guidance on the Diagnosis and Management of Osteoporosis in New Zealand. The FLS also ensures that falls risk is addressed among older patients through referral to appropriate local falls prevention services.

The FLS Clinician will work in conjunction with the Fracture Liaison Coordinator and Clinical Lead to ensure that a fracture risk assessment and treatment (where appropriate) is delivered to all individuals with fragility fractures. This is a 0.6 FTE permanent position.

This position would suit either a Registered Nurse or Registered Allied Health Professional. Applicants will need to have a current annual practicing certificate. A current driver's licence is essential.
