**Looking for Transport Specialists**

We operate in end-to-end supply chain management, focused on the Retail and FMCG industries. Together with our long-term blue-chip customers, we are committed to health and safety, employee wellbeing, customer service excellence and technology innovation. With sites around New Zealand, we are experiencing another growth phase and currently on the hunt for more transport specialists to join the team.

**Based in Auckland, we have vacancies available at the below sites**:

- Westney Road, Mangere
- Nesdale Avenue, Wiri

**Guaranteed 50 hours for each shift with 30 mins paid lunch break these are our available shifts**:

- 06:00am-18:00pm, Monday to Friday
- 06:00pm-06:00am, Monday to Friday

As a transport specialist, you play a pivotal role in the high quality delivery of Cardinal Logistics services and are required to maintain a strong customer link with the Cardinal Logistics clients. Your driving task requires the efficient and effective delivery of Cardinal Logistics services with the view that your service is critical to the continuation of Cardinal Logistics client supply agreements and service. Thisrole also includes loading trucks, to ensure freight and documentation are accurately checked and recorded, and to ensure store and freight management requirements are met.

The customer service focus involves the legal, willing, friendly and timely provision of services, requested by Cardinal Logistics clients to meet their pickup and delivery needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- The pick up and delivery of goods.
- Drive the vehicle in a safe and legal manner.
- Ensure the vehicle meets all legal on road requirements.
- Ensure all documentation is submitted to the appropriate locations.
- To transport goods in a manner that complies with regulatory and company requirements
- To promptly report back all comments, feedback and complaints to the Operations Manager
- To maintain the appearance and cleanliness of company vehicles
- To ensure that vehicles are maintained and checked daily for oil, water, fuel, air pressure, Road User Charge Licence, hubodometer etc
- To promptly report any accident or loss of equipment
- To ensure that all safety regulations are adhered to and all safety equipment is maintained in accordance with company policy
- To ensure all regulatory and company documentation is correct and complete
- Insuring the delivery of the correct consignment to the correct receiver at the correct time
- Insuring a signature is obtained from the receiver for each consignment delivered
- Insuring the time of delivery and truck number is recorded on each consignment note
- Reporting all damages and completing the relevant documentation
- Promptly reporting any shortage or extra freight
- Insuring correct freight is loaded and you have the correct paperwork when doing a pick up
- Sorting and putting away incoming freight to the correct areas
- Insuring a vehicle check sheet is completed weekly
- Insure that CHEP pallets are swapped 1-4-1 or that the correct documentation is completed.
- Daily pre and post drive vehicle inspections
- Driving Duties
- Loading and unloading of any goods
- Strapping and securing the loads
- Completing, carrying and delivery of load support documentation
- Keeping the vehicle interior and exterior clean
- Carrying out minor maintenance tasks
- Complete your logbook as required by current legislation
- Comply with all Cardinal Logistics Policies and Procedures.

**Staff Management**:

- As a team member, the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team.

**Safety and Wellbeing**:

- To work safely at all times and ensure that they do not put themselves or others at risk of harm
- Follow company policies and procedures and specific site rules at all times
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting, recording and investigation of all incidents.
- Active involvement in rehabilitation and return to work practices.
- Ensure you are always wearing PPE.
- Reporting any unsafe equipment or environment
- Class 4-5 License / Forklift/MHE License to be kept current and managed to be notified when they are about to expire.

**Loading of Trucks**:

- Ensure that freight is loaded in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with OSH and Land Transport regulations
- Freight is placed in the appropriate bays
- Efficient turn-a-round of vehicles by prompt loading and unloading
- Nil fines due to improper loading
- Over/under and damages accurately dealt with/recorded

**Freight and documentation accurately checked and recorded**:

- Ensure that freight and documentation are checked into store, all freight leaves the depot must be manifested

**Store and freight management**:

- Communicate to manager any urgent or special deliveries
- Report all possible delivery delays or issues to manager
- All consumables i.e. shrink wrap, knives, tape etc to be used for company purposes.
- Any spills and rubbish are disposed of appropriately
- Uniform
