In addition to maintaining secure facilities, we aim to help rehabilitate young offenders. Case Leaders understand that the causes of offending are complex, and that successfully dealing with young offenders, demands action beyond simple punitive measures.

Mō te tūnga | About the role
As a Case Leader, you will report to the Team Leader Clinical Practice and be accountable for the leadership and development of all aspects of a young person's care plan. This includes the interventions, programmes and steps needed to effectively address health needs, presenting behaviours, trauma impacts, and the therapeutic services each young person requires to support their healing and restoration to whānau or an alternative longer-term home.

**Your practice framework will require an understanding of**:

- Child development and behavioural theories
- Trauma-informed care and attachment theory
- Child focused and creative behavioural intervention.

**Key requirements of the role include**:

- A qualification in psychology, occupational therapy, education, social work, health or another related field is a prerequisite and registration with a professional body is essential.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
