Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We have three leader roles in our Crown Property Group, as we are implementing some change that will bring us closer to our customers and have us take on more responsibility for property and land management. This is an exciting time to join us and support the Crown Estate we are responsible for to ensure it's well managed and enhanced for existing and future generations.
All our leaders in Crown Property work collaboratively to ensure that portfolios meet legislative and maintenance requirements, and extensively with Iwi on treaty settlement properties.
These roles could be based in our Wellington, Hamilton, or Christchurch offices, and we offer flexible working, while we like you to be in the office some days with your team, please let us know what flexible working arrangement you prefer.
**1. Leader - Built Structures**:
You will lead the team responsible for managing the built structures portfolio.
The built structures team oversees our residential tenancy supplier and manages our non-residential built structure portfolio and includes for Toitu and on behalf of other Government agencies.
You will have extensive experience in commercial or residential property management and would have worked with facilities management suppliers. You will work collaboratively with critical stakeholders, Iwi Partners and internal staff to deliver property management plans, monitor and develop lease agreements and ensure that our built structure portfolio is well cared for.
Ideally for this role you would be based in either Hamilton or Wellington.
**2. Leader - Land and Waterways**:
You will lead the team responsible for managing the Land and Waterway portfolio.
The Land and Waterway team oversees our land, waterways, forestry, mining portfolios, which includes leasing, and property management. Some of the activities include:
- Creating annual asset inspections
- Understand sustainable land use and impacts of leasing
- Compliance with national policy statements and regional/district plans
Ideally for this role you would be based in Christchurch.
**3. Leader - Assessment and Acquisition**:
This team plays a critical part in providing the connection between Crown Property and our customers.
This is our ‘work engine' so you will have previous experience excelling in a high-volume customer roles, with statutory decision making. You will understand workflow and the importance of business process.
For this role you could be based in Hamilton, Wellington or Christchurch.
**The expected appointing range for these roles is**: $140,000 - $190,000 depending on skills and experience.

**You will have**:
- Experience in leading highly productive teams to deliver complex work packages.
- Experience in working collaboratively with Iwi Partners
- Proven experience in coaching, mentor and guiding teams and individuals in a way that builds their knowledge and capability.
- Rebuilding a strong culture within the team
**Where it's relevant to the role, you may also bring**:
- Experience in commercial or residential property management with experience in leasing, residential tenancy agreements and planned maintenance scheduling.
- A strong understanding of government legislation including national policy statements and local authority legislation.
- Proven experience in managing land and waterways including land use for recreational activities and contaminated land
- Sound understanding of laws and regulations surrounding land obligations including Resource Management Act 1991, Biosecurity Act 1993, Forests Act 1949 and relevant national policy statements.
- Proven experience in customer service management.
- Sound understanding of laws and regulations surrounding land obligations and land acquisition.
