- Manage and motivate a successful team and oversee rosters to meet the changing daily customer flow.
- Handle Customer enquiries and complaints appropriately and ensure effective interactions with customers at all times. Ensure speedy resolution of price enquiry and other queries through effective liaison with all departments. Ensure appropriate escalation of price scanning errors.
- Ensure the Checkout Area is kept clean and tidy and all trolleys / baskets and credits are cleared away regularly to avoid clutter or potential hazards being created.
- Assist in recruitment and development of all team members into the department.
- Ensure all team members receive an appropriate induction and training into to the department and receive appropriate ongoing training support.
- Complete Performance Management Discussions with all team members (30 / 60 / 90).
- Roster to ensure adequate staff at all times, keeping in line with targets.
- Support employees in the department involved in specific programmes or courses
- Manage Holiday and Lieu Day levels to ensure liability is kept under control. All Checkout stock / equipment e.g. checkout bags required is sourced through approved suppliers.
- Assist in minimizing Store Costs. Manage credits / returns in a timely and tidy fashion to minimize waste and reduce loss. Reinforce and appropriately implement the businesses returns policy in all appropriate transactions. Maintain security of the front end to ensure all product that leaves the store is paid for.
- Maintain OSH & Food Safety Compliance in the Department. Ensure appropriate safety equipment is available to all team members.
- The role can work generally Monday to Friday with some flexibility required around busy times.
