**About the role**

We are seeking an experienced Butchery Manager to join our busy New World store in Whitianga, Waikato. As Butchery Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our in-store butchery department, ensuring exceptional customer service and the highest quality of fresh meat products. This is a full-time role within a thriving local community.

**What you'll be doing**
- Manage the butchery team, including scheduling, training and development
- Ensure all butchery products are fresh, well-presented and competitively priced
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to maintain optimal inventory
- Provide exceptional customer service, offering expert advice and custom cuts
- Maintain a clean, safe and compliant butchery operation
- Contribute to the overall success of the store through collaborative teamwork

**What we're looking for**
- Proven experience as a Butchery Manager or equivalent role in the meat industry
- Strong butchery and meat-cutting skills with a keen eye for quality
- Excellent customer service orientation and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in inventory management and stock control
- Good understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, customer-focused retail environment
