Investment Planning Manager

**About the role**
To manage the Investment Planning Team and lead:
- Delivery of the Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP), including joint development with Council and other partners.
- Ongoing management of the RLTP.
- Delivery of Auckland Transport's Statement of Intent.
- Auckland Transport's input to multi-agency strategic planning - such as the ATAP process.
- Management of Auckland Transport's portfolio management framework, including benefits realisation components and advising the Investment Committees on the health of AT's eight main portfolios.
- Provision of advice to the Investment Committee on proposals, along with overseeing the secretariate.
- Production of relevant briefing material to the Board and other customers.
**About you**:
- Extensive experience, with some public sector experience preferred, in planning / strategy / policy or related area.
- Relevant Tertiary education
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team in the delivery of cross-departmental or cross-agency strategy or complex public policy documents / or processes.
- Demonstrated experience in running effective processes and the ability to tailor these to the governance role of the Board or Council
- Demonstrated ability to 'elevate' advice and make the links between detailed decisions, for example at a project level, and wider strategy and outcomes
- Familiarity with project management disciplines, including P3MO practices and portfolio management
- Relevant experience in managing teams and coaching
- Previous experience engaging and partnering with senior stakeholders in central and local government in relation to strategy or policy.
- Familiarity with governance documents, such as Statements of Intent
- Experience of working within a political environment and engaging in public consultation processes.
- Good understanding and knowledge of transport planning and systems, urban planning policies, key local and central government legislation, council practices and constraints.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, particularly consultancy budgets.
