We are an independent statutory entity legislated to:

- provide leadership in promoting the health and well-being of Te Reo Māori for iwi and Māori, and at the community level;
- support, inform and influence the Crown’s initiatives in protecting, promoting and revitalising Te Reo Māori;
- give effect, through its association with Ministers of the Crown, to the relationship of the Crown with iwi and Māori in relation to Te Reo Māori; amongst other things.

Join an energetic team who are working collaboratively across Aotearoa to restore te reo Māori as a vibrant language used widely and ultimately nurtured as a first language in homes and communities.
We are searching for an Investment Manager to be an integral part of the leadership team, leading and managing Te Mātāwai’s investment function and providing oversight, support and guidance for a network of community-based language champions.
The role:
In this exciting role, you will build and maintain a variety of relationships, both internal and external, therefore, visibility across the motu is essential to the success of this role. Duties include:

- active contribution as a member of the leadership team and strategic engagement across the Te Mātāwai team, iwi, Crown partners and reo Māori revitalisation leaders;
- providing guidance and support for the Kaiarataki Haumitanga and Kaiārahi Pou Reo/Kaiāwhina;
- supporting and managing the annual investment programme;
- establishing and managing effective relationships with the Tari and the Board, Pou Taki and Pae Motuhake, including the provision of advice. Insights and reporting.;
**About you**:
To succeed in this role you will bring:

- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Proficiency in Te Reo Māori and English and a sound understanding of tikanga and Treaty of Waitangi principles.
- Leadership and management experience combined with flexibility and agility.
- Sound experience in dealing with the management of investment funding, procurement and community-based programmes.
- Strong project management skills - able to strategise, plan and coordinate resources to meet agreed objectives, and measure and report progress against agreed outcomes.
- Sound experience in regional budget, resource allocation and strategy implementation and proven experience in project monitoring, project evaluation and reporting.
- Strong communication (written and oral) and relationship management skills.
- Passionate advocacy for the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori.
- Active participation (kanohi kitea) in Te Ao Māori.
- Experience in working with whānau, hapū, iwi, Māori organisation’s and Māori communities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
