Te Puni Kōkiri is the government's principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for, and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.

Our Investments tīma is looking for a **Aporei, Haumitanga** | Principal Advisor, Investments. This role is permanent, full-time and based in Te Tari Matua, Pōneke | National Office, Wellington.

**Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity**

You will manage and maintain a network across Te Puni Kōkiri, and work closely with a range of stakeholders, including cross-agency partners and recipients of our investments.

You will operate across the enterprise to monitor the performance of both the outcomes achieved by investment partners, and the investment funds themselves. At the same time, you will maintain strong connections with our regional network and the enterprise to identify and manage issues and risks. A collaborative and flexible approach will be expected as work priorities arise and evolve.

In addition to your strategic responsibilities, you will provide leadership and mentorship across the investment portfolio. You will also offer technical leadership within specific work areas and projects, and work collaboratively across the Ministry, adapting as priorities evolve.

The likely appointment range is $123,317 - $137,018 based on skills and experience.

**Mōu | About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Post Graduate Tertiary Qualification or other relevant experience
- Experience managing large scale investments
- Demonstrated experience within the public sector environment with the ability to influence key stakeholders [at least 10 years]
- Sound understanding of Machinery of Government, public sector delivery structures and systems
- Experience working in large and complex environments
- Experience working at a senior level in interagency groups
- Experience in business planning, analysis, internal consultation and engagement, and interaction with decision makers
- A proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, to influence and guide organisational and system-level decision making
- Significant experience in relationship management and developing and maintaining extensive internal and external networks at senior levels
- Proven record in translating information and presenting high quality, timely and credible advice to high level decision makers
- Previous experience of strategy, planning, performance, and risk management
