The New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) Security Services Group is responsible for protecting the NZIC's personnel, information, and assets, from a wide variety of internal and external security threats. We are seeking a highly-motivated Team Manager to join our Group and lead our dedicated Personnel Security (PERSEC) Team.
About the role
As our Personnel Security Team Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Leadership and management of the PERSEC Team
- Delivery of the NZIC personnel security programme
- Developing and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement within the Team
- Identifying, assessing, and managing complex personnel security risks within the NZIC
- Lifting the security culture within the NZIC

You will work with a wide variety of individuals and teams - an important part of this role will be developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers, partners, and stakeholders, as well as providing a high standard of customer service.
About you

**To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate**:

- Proven leadership ability and/or experience in leading others
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to work well under pressure, using sound problem solving skills, effective risk management and good judgement
- Enthusiasm, drive and a commitment to continuous improvement
- A working knowledge of the Protective Security Requirements

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
