**About the Company**:
This independent agency handles complaints about the actions and decisions of government agencies, undertakes investigations and inspections, and provides advice and guidance to ensure people in New Zealand are treated fairly by the state.

**About the Role**:
This is a newly established team with 3 direct reports and the role leads and advises on the physical, personnel and information security matters by identifying and assessing risks and threats, strategic and tactical opportunities, and ensuring that the information systems, personnel and premises are secure in order to protect the reputation and work of the agency.

You’ll have a high level of oversight around the security work plan, ensuring that strategies are integrated and fit for purpose. Working cohesively and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure the strategic objectives are met in a timely manner.

**Skills & Experience**:

- At least seven years in the security industry in a lead or management role.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in security or other relevant field, or significant and comparable work experience
- Extensive experience at a management level in physical and/or personnel security or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead a high-performing team as an active coach and mentor.
- Have a good understanding of the NZISM and Protective Security Requirements (PSR).
