Te tūnga | The role
In your role as Team Leader - Staying in Contact, you will report to the Manager - Data Collection and work in close partnership with the different teams across Collection Operations. You will be responsible for coordinating re-engagement with participants of the Living in Aotearoa survey who have lost contact. In addition, you will support Data Collection Specialists (DCS') on re-engagement and retention strategies, work closely with community engagement on strategies and provide input on process improvement from collateral to the relationship approach.
Requirements in your role may change with the needs of the organisation.
**You will also**:
- Recruit, train, and manage the centralised Staying in Contact team.
- Work closely with respondents to ensure continuation in completion of the surveys.
- Provide data on how work is tracking - identify trends, inputs, and present ideas for how to change trends.
- Ensure regular and robust communication with and canvassing of Data Collection Specialist's experience in the field - what works, what doesn't, their strategies for engaging and re-engaging.
- Undertake regular review and consideration of collateral, including strong input into the content and timing of newsletters and other mid-wave communications.
- Ensure close collaboration with other areas and teams within Stats NZ to raise the public profile of the Living in Aotearoa survey.
- Create policies and procedures around Data Collection Specialist's direct contact with respondents in between waves to record interactions, encourage engagement and retention of respondents, and ensure the HS&W of the Data Collection Specialists.
- Manage the technical process of split households.

- Proven experience managing both team and individual performance and capability development
- Experience working with CRM systems, Work Allocation tools or concepts and telephony software, i.e., Salesforce, PureCloud and Excel
- Proven experience working in a service delivery environment
- Understands the end-to-end data collection process with sound knowledge of key legislation around people leadership, including the Employment Relations Act, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Be available to travel domestically as required, have reliable internet access, a current driver's licence and a fully insured, reliable vehicle that can be used for work purposes
