Established in 1954, Brink’s are pioneers in the New Zealand food industry. The business has expanded over the years, now operating multiple primary and further processing sites that produce a comprehensive range of premium chicken products. With plans underway for further growth and development, here is a fantastic opportunity to take a senior leadership role that will be instrumental in the company's ongoing success.

**What will you be doing?**

You will be responsible for leading all processing activities across two facilities: Karaka and Tuakau that employ approx 75 and 60 staff respectively. This is the heart of the business, supplying dressed birds to the Mt Wellington further processing operation. It is a fast paced, time critical and dynamic production environment so offers an experienced Operations Manager plenty of challenges and the opportunity to truly make a difference. You will be accountable for managing operational cost, providing direction and support as you develop your people, while working collaboratively with other functional leads. You will also ensure all workplace compliance requirements are met, including H&S, quality, and compliance. Fundamental to your success is your ability to identify, plan and lead business improvement projects to maximise return on investment with the support of the senior leadership team.

**Who are we looking for?**

You are a proven people leader who has significant operational management experience within a fast-paced processing operation. You bring:

- **Tertiary Qualification**:Food Technology, Science, Engineering, Operations Management or similar.
- **Industry experience**: Your background is from the food industry, preferably poultry processing or other primary meat processing.
- **Great leadership skills**: Through motivation, mentoring and empowerment you inspire the development of a high performing team. You have a consultative, inclusive and communicative team-focused style and the ability to delegate effectively.
- **Continuous Improvement**:A thorough understanding of Lean principles that you have applied effectively. You are constantly looking for opportunities to improve the operation and have demonstrated your abilities as a project manager.
- **Commercial savvy**:. You are astute, make plans, crunch the numbers, manage the site budget and costs, and make pragmatic decisions that make commercial sense while remaining very customer focused.
