**Technician Wood Manufacturing (Rotorua)**

**Permanent Part Time**

We are seeking a motivated, energetic Technician with great people skills to provide assistance in the implementation of our Wood Manufacturing programmes, particularly our Timber Machining block courses within the Faculty of Primary Industries, Trades and Infrastructure.

This is a permanent part time position 25 hours per week while block courses are running, with some flexibility around dates & times. This role will support our teaching staff in the preparation of physical resources and is based at our Waipa Campus, with travel between Toi Ohomai campus locations may be required.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

- Safe Set-Up, Operation and Maintenance of Wood Manufacturing Machinery

particularly timber planers
- Effective student support
- Tutor and programme support

The skills, experience and qualifications required for this role include:

- Timber Machining Qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ Planer experience
- Full Driver License (car)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Competent computer skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work well with a diverse range of people
