At Oji Fibre Solutions - Forest Resources, our Fibre Supply Team plays a key role managing the procurement and delivery of sustainably sourced virgin wood-fibre from renewable forestry resources to our manufacturing operations. From the wood-fibre we supply, we take pride in producing world-class market kraft pulps, which are used in a wide range of boards and specialty products around the world.
**About the role**:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced **Health & Safety Advisor** to join our Fibre Supply Team, based in our Rotorua office.
Reporting to the Fibre Procurement Operations Manager, you will demonstrate initiative and the ability to influence others effectively. With sound judgment, a collaborative mindset, and strong communication skills, you will drive practical solutions and continuous improvement in a dynamic environment. A key focus of this role is ensuring safe and efficient operations across our log yards, with a strong focus on contractor engagement and oversight.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead, support and implement Health and Safety through the coordination, and support of policies, procedures, safety initiatives and systems.
- Proactively identify and manage Health & Safety risks, with particular emphasis on contractor activities within log yard and log harvesting operations.
- Co-ordinate and maintain safety training programs across multiple sites.
- Monitor and report on safety performance improvements.
- Lead or participate in H&S meetings and contribute to group-wide safety projects.
- Conduct incident investigations and operational audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Champion safety initiatives that enhance both wellbeing and productivity.
**You will bring to the role**:
- Relevant qualifications and hands-on experience in contractor safety management, ideally within forestry, manufacturing, or similar high-risk environments.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive and structured approach to H&S management.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation, including contractors.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; experience with Risk Manager (or similar H&S management systems) is preferred.
