**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Respiratory team at Starship Child Health is looking for a Nurse Specialist in a permanent, part time capacity.

The Starship Respiratory Department provides specialist respiratory care for children across New Zealand with complex or severe lung problems, both congenital and acquired. Specialist care is provided in conjunction with a local general paediatric specialist. The Nurse Specialist cares for mokopuna and whanau living with cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis and conditions requiring life support - long term ventilation.

The current vacancy is in the Cystic Fibrosis portfolio. The Nurse Specialist is an expert in assessment skills; diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options and monitoring underpin practice. This role has specialist knowledge of respiratory conditions which is central to the role. Case management and coordination of the patient and their whānau with health professionals and inpatient areas is integral. The Nurse Specialist also provides cover across the other respiratory portfolios.

To be successful you will:

- Have NZ Nursing Registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
- Have Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice
- Have minimum level 4 practice
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing professional development issues
- Have at least 5 years of nursing experience
- Have a Masters degree in nursing or health related area (Desired)
- Have experience in a Paediatric and/or Respiratory setting (Desired)
