We are Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children's Hospital, located in central Auckland.
Starship Child Health is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major teaching centre, providing family centred care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Starship is a part of Te Toka Tumai | Auckland City Hospital and is the only comprehensive children's hospital in New Zealand serving a population of approximately 1 million children.
In this role as an Orthopaedic Nurse Specialist, you will collaborate closely with our Orthopaedic Spine Specialists at Starship Child Health. The Nurse Specialist will ensure coordination of planned or acute care of varying complexity. This includes coordination of care in the pre-hospital, hospital, and community settings. You will work closely with a wider team of Orthopaedic Specialists, Nurse Specialists, Senior Nurses, Nursing teams and the wider multidisciplinary and community teams and services to achieve this.
In addition to Spine, you will have an opportunity to work closely with and support the wider Orthopaedic Service in caring for children with Orthopaedic conditions beyond the spine. Working together to foster the provision of positive outcomes and experiences for tamariki and their whanau.

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and experienced nurse to join our team as a Nurse Specialist. We have a permanent, part time (0.5FTE) Nurse Specialist position available.
The Nurse Specialist is an expert in assessment skills, diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options and monitoring underpin practice. This role has specialist knowledge of complex conditions which is central to the role. Case management and coordination of the patient and their whānau with health professionals and inpatient areas is integral.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

**To be successful you will**:
Have NZ Nursing Registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
Have Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice
Have Project management experience
Have minimum level 4 practice
Demonstrate knowledge of nursing professional development issues
Have a Masters degree in nursing or health related area (Desired)
Have at least 5 years of nursing experience (Desired)
Have experience in a Paediatric and/or Orthopaedic setting (Desired)
