At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 110 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Manawatu, Kāpiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.
Our vision for Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens is derived from our belief in the importance of quality early childhood education for the children themselves, their whānau, their community and for Aotearoa New Zealand. Therefore, we seek to be a leader in the provision of high-quality early childhood education, and by demonstrating what can be achieved, be seen as advocates for children and whānau and help to improve quality early childhood education throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

More than 6,000 children now attend one of Whānau Manaaki’s kindergartens and around 150 children are enrolled with our Pasifika-focused Etu Ao homebased service.
**Community Description**
Located on the east side of Masterton, Una Williams Kindergarten offers a full-year, school-day programme in a warm and welcoming environment. We’re proud of our spacious building and beautiful natural outdoor areas, including an onsite community garden that supports hands-on learning about sustainability.
At the heart of everything we do is Manaakitanga—showing care, respect, and hospitality. We honour Aotearoa’s dual heritage by regularly using Te Reo Māori and embracing respectful, inclusive practices. Our kindergarten celebrates cultural diversity and builds strong, meaningful connections with our local community, including Pacific families and with local schools and kura.
We love having our community involved Whether it’s joining us on excursions or participating in social events, whānau support plays a big role in our programme.
We’re licensed for 40 children, each attending for 6 hours a day, and you’ll be joining a passionate team of four other teachers.
**We are looking for an energetic and vibrant ECE kaiako who**:
- has knowledge of a Pacific approach on teaching and learning to support our community
- is responsive in forming relationships with colleagues, whānau and tamariki with a lens of respecting and acknowledging the wealth of knowledge they bring with them
- will provide collegial support to the team in evaluative practices such as curriculum, professional growth cycle and evaluation processes
- designing and implementing culturally responsive approaches, that reflect the local community and our commitment to being a Te Tiriti lead organisation
- implements effective practices that creates a curriculum that is inclusive and promotes all children's sense of belonging and wellbeing.
