At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 111 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.

More than 6,000 children now attend one of Whānau Manaaki’s 108 kindergartens and around 150 children are enrolled with our Pasifika-focused Etu Ao homebased service.
**Community Description**
Waitohi is a full year kindergarten and is licensed for 30 children aged 2 - 5 years old and open for 10 hours each day. The kindergarten is situated within the Johnsonville Community hub and above the library.
This is a fulltime role 40 hours per week worked Monday to Friday.
This position would suit a Kaiako who enjoys working in a full day and full year model and who has an interest in engaging in the library, to support our localised curriculum.
We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic kaiako to join our Waitohi kindergarten team who will:
- support the kindergarten team in designing and implementing localised curriculum reflective of the Johnsonville community
- work responsively and inclusively, in ways that ensure tamariki are at the heart of decisions, and where the diversity and uniqueness of each tamariki is valued and celebrated.
- actively contribute to collaborative learning-focused relationships with tamariki, whānau, the teaching team, support staff and the local community.
- work collaboratively in support of a team culture of open communication, collective problem solving and shared responsibility
