At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens (WMK), we’re proud to support over 100 kindergartens across a variety of regions—from Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Kāpiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also offer a unique home-based service, Etu Ao, in Porirua and Levin, with a special focus on Pasific families.

Today, more than 6,000 children are part of the Whānau Manaaki kindergarten family, with an additional 150 children enrolled in our Etu Ao home-based programme. Together, we’re building strong foundations for lifelong learning and wellbeing.

**Community Description**:
Kahurangi kindergarten is located in Solway, Masterton. The team are committed to providing a bicultural curriculum where we work in partnership with whānau to promote whanaungatanga - a sense of connection through shared experiences. We practice kaitiakitanga, promoting respect for the natural environment and the values of care and protection. Kahurangi is responsive to diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for all to learn in a supportive whānau based environment.

This is a fulltime role - 40 hours per week worked over five days Monday to Friday.

We are an all year kindergarten, licensed for 45 children who attend between the hours of 8am-4pm; 8.30am-3.30pm; 9am-3pm. This includes 5 children under 2 years of age. You will join our team alongside 7 other teachers.

**We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako who**:

- is a reflective practitioner with sound knowledge of current pedagogy and practice who can work very effectively in collaborative ways
- has a strong knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and working in a way that acknowledges the dual heritage of Aotearoa
- has an ability to work with parents as partners in their children’s education
- engages in effective communication in a large team and is committed to their professional growth
- has a passion for working with children 0 - 5 years of age within a whānau-based approach
