The kindergarten is located in Khandallah, a suburb in close commuting distance to the central business district of Wellington. Khandallah is a family suburb, with a high proportion of family homes and community shared assets such as parks, libraries, swimming pools etc.

Families of children are very supportive of the kindergarten and willingly contribute to the kindergarten. The community provides many child centered facilities such as gymnastics, ballet, swimming and numerous sporting and musical activities.

The teaching team nurtures an environment which is responsive to the interests of the child and deepens their knowledge and experiences.

This work profile is.8 (32 hours per week) worked over the following days and times:
Mon 8hrs (8am - 4.30pm) with 1/2 hr unpaid break

Tues 8hrs (8am - 4.30pm) with 1/2 hr unpaid break

Wed 5hrs (11.00am - 4.30pm) with 1/2 hr unpaid break

Thurs 8hrs (8am - 4.30pm) with 1/2 hr unpaid break

Fri 3hrs (11.30am - 2.30pm)

We are licensed for 41 children who attend for 6 hours each day. You will join our team of 4 other teachers.

**We are looking for an ECE teacher who**:

- Provides a curriculum that is responsive to the needs of children from 2 to 5 years old.
- is committed to engaging and working with children and whānau from diverse cultures
- is committed to working collaboratively with other Kaiako.
- has the ability to implement te reo and tikanga Māori into the curriculum
