**The Organisation**
Te Kaunihera ā Rohe o Te Tihi o Maru aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from community facing roles to support and technical specialists.
**The Role / Person**
Reporting to the Group Manager Commercial and Strategy the Strategy and Corporate Planning Manager will be responsible for leading corporate planning, policy and services that reflect Council’s vision to ensure the wellbeing of the Timaru District community.
You will manage the implementation of the Council’s strategic plans in accordance with the Local Government Act 2002 as well as managing the preparation, development and review of Council’s Long Term Plan, Annual Plan, and Annual Report. You will working closely with the Governance and Executive Support Manager to ensure all statutory obligations are complied with and Elected Members are supported in their roles.
As part of the role you will have a strong focus on leading a professional team, fostering a spirit of unity and actively engaging with stakeholders and communities.
You will need to be an energetic leader, have a relevant tertiary qualification in Policy, Social Sciences, Strategic Management, be an outstanding communicator and have the natural ability to build rapport quickly to engage with our people at all levels.
You will also have had success at building a high performing culture. Your ‘can do’ attitude and excellent organisation skills are a must in this dynamic and ever-evolving environment. You will be a strategic thinker, highly professional, reliable and work well under pressure.
This position is a permanent full-time position offering 40 hours per week. The salary range for this position is between $106,264.00 to $125,017.00.
